Costume and Prop Planning

Props: The only prop which will be used in the video specifically is a skateboard. I have chosen to use a skateboard in the video during the chorus where the artist will undertake a journey on the skateboard and shoot from a point of view aspect. I have chosen to use this as I feel it fits with the theme of the song, the whole persona of the artist is a rebellious do anything that he wants sort of attitude. The skateboard will also appeal to a youth audience as they can relate to the behaviour exhibited and associated with having a skateboard. The simple design of the skateboard makes it universal. It also adds a sort of bad boy image to the video.
Costumes: I have chosen to have three different outfits for the video, one for each verse and different location. This is something that is usually done within music videos as it can show different moods and different parts to the story. The style of outfit that the artist wears has been mimicked within the actor as it is a recreation of the artist style in music and clothes. The style that I have chosen to go for is and indie look, one that can be defined as an eclectic mix where you can wear whatever is comfortable and what you feel looks good. I feel the shoes are also important as the artist is a collector of shoes and this is something that will also be mimicked
The first outfit that I have chosen will be simple grey shorts with, socks, a black jumper, sunglasses and a pair of orange converse. This is a generic style that looks comfortable and is also appropriate wear for the day.

The second outfit that the actor will wear is to be plum chinos (rolled up), artists own t-shirt, camo jacket and adidas gazelles. I have chosen to use the artist own T-shirt as it will sell the brand of the artist and creating a buzz around the logo that he uses for his clothes. The camo jacket is sensible and also stylish not brash and to loud. The rolled up chinos adds a bit of originality and edge to the look as that copies what the artists song is about.
The final outfit is to be black shorts, blue jacket, white T-shirt and Nike red blazers. I have chosen this outfit all on similar principles to the rest of the outfit style and sense. The shoes again add an original twist to an otherwise casual well accepted look.

The look of the actor is very important as it determines how the artist will be viewed and as many music artists are looked up to their fans then they will have to set an example for their supporters.
